From the West:

I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of our Lodge and the fantastic job everyone did in regard to our Golf Tournament on August 6 th  this year.  This year saw quite a few tournaments held at the Fernley Golf Course. According to everyone I have talked to, Fernley Lodge #34’s has been amongst the most fun and smoothest run events in a very long time.

Smiles and comradery abounded as funds were raised for next year’s Masonic scholarships and the Shrine.  It did my heart good to see the Lodge building packed with friends and brothers (standing room only) during the post golf festivities.

I would like to give a special thanks and recognition to the efforts of Brothers Boyd Franklin, Douglas Riley, and Worshipful Master Matthew Reidy without whose help the event could not have taken place.

Thank you once more to all those who participated and I look forward to seeing you all again next year!!

From the South:

Sound of cooking and delicious smells permeate from the area of the Junior Warden.
Too busy getting the fixings for next meal together to respond to the Secretary’s e-mail.

The Secretary’s Sad and Beautiful World

The Lodge has a lot to be proud about regarding the Golf Tournament. We raised about $8,700 and expenditures were about $2500. We covered the scholarships given out this year and will be able to bank some money into the savings account and donate to the Shrine Hospital as promised.

We have been able to keep donors from past years and have found a few new ones this year. With more help next year, we should be able to top $10,000. We seem to have quite a few repeat golfers. Kerak Shrine helped out with quite a few golfers as did the Fernley Golf Course.

I will try to have a final report in the October meeting as some money and bills are still out there.

Fraternally,
Secretary
